Scrapbook 101

Wow where do I start.  I've been looking at pictures at scrapbooks for weeks now, just to steal get some ideas.  This is what I'm starting with:

I know spontaneous I love you's are nothing new in our 3 year relationship but this one scared me.... When I saw it, I thought "SHE KNOWS...."

FedEx-oneration Form

I missed the shipment from FedEx today.  Couldn't decide whether or not to sign this.  Since no one is going to be home to sign for it tomorrow, I decided to sign it and pray for the best.  Hope the FedEx guy doesn't decide to run away with my package.

Finally saw the ring!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey babe, sorry I have a confession to make.   I had to lie to you today and sneak around.  After spending a short but awesome weekend with you in Brooklyn, I had to drop you off for your photo shoot and we had to part ways at 4pm today.  After dropping you off, I told you I was heading home, but I wasn't...... I hope you're not mad at me and my ability to sneak around undetected. I promise I will only use my abilities for good and not evil.  Anyways this is what I was up to =)

ps: i know you love behind the scenes stuff like this, so I taped the whole setting process. 

Wish I could reprint..

Every time we take a new picture now, I wish it was included in my snapfish order... I wonder if I have enough time to build a second order, print and incorporate it into my scrapbook.

btw do you know where I'm posting from?  That's right, you guessed it, from YOUR bathroom here in brooklyn. (ninja skill lvl up)

Snapfish Delivery

I came home today to a cardboard box from snapfish sitting in front of my house.  Opening the package reminded me of the excitement I used to get when I bought a box of basketball/baseball cards.  I can't believe how quick it was to upload, customize and print those photos.  The only time consuming part was editing the photos.  Can't wait to get down and dirty, building that scrap book.  Wish I could start tonight, but I have to run out to go visit Rob and then head out to Brooklyn to see you =)))))))))))))))))))))))))))

So excite-bike.

Awww SNAPfish.

Just placed my order for my edited photos.  I wasn't sure whether to go with gloss or matte.  I did some research online, for scrapbooks, since the pictures are behind a gloss cover anyways there will already be a gloss finish.  The colors pop more on a gloss finish so 'they' recommended a gloss finish  for scrapbooking.  Plus, you told me you like gloss.

So check it out.... originally i couldn't decide whether to order matte or gloss so I was going to order 1 set of each.  The website did not permit me to do this, so I spoke with a customer service rep.  Turns out its not possible to order 1 set of gloss and 1 set of matte in the same order.  You need to place 2 separate orders, so i was like oh then I can't qualify for the free shipping coupon.  She gave me a credit and a 20% coupon to offset the damage a bit......i really should order another set.....which i should....which i could.....but i won't

Wow, time flies when you're editing photos.  I came home from work and started editing photos to send to snapfish.  Next thing I knew it was like 9pm you were calling and I was still in my work clothes.

Finally bit the bullet and bought the ipad.  I couldn't decide what specs to get and what engraving to put on it so I procrastinated all this time.  Then I realized, whatever I get you, you'll probably love <3

And the busyness begins!

Hey baby, the madness begins.  April-May is such a busy month for us.  I wish we had more time to do our own thing... I'm really feeling the time crunch now to fulfill all the steps for the proposal.  This weekend we got my car inspected and we went to bottomless brunch and saw Matt =)

I think i almost slipped about my proposal when he was asking when I was going to propose.  I'm getting a little anxious too... the ring should be here soon..

Countdown: 27 days

I kid..... i don't have it yet. I'm getting a bit impatient now though.  It's been about 3 weeks now, it should be ready any day now.  I can't wait to see it, i really hope you're going to love it.  I think I'm going to do it Friday 5/18, tentatively of course.  I keep playing it over and over in my mind, making sure I get it right!  I really hope its everything you ever imagined in a proposal and that you can be excited every time you tell the story.

Still photo hunting....

Found a lot of great photos today from my hard drive and facebook.  You also sent me a few "never seen before" photos from back in 2002, TREASURE!!!  This is great, hopefully I can send out the files for printing next week or possibly this weekend.  I'm going to try to edit them a little bit, then I can start working on it.

Plans for the weekend:

• Identify more photos
• Purchase iPad
• Purchase ingredients to make lai mein (1st draft)
• Video tape self gathering pics and shopping for lai mein.

I'm starting to doubt my plan a little bit, how am i going to manage to pull all this together..... I just keep telling myself you're worth it and its going to all work out.....

Hunting for pictures...

I seriously thought this part of my plan would be a lot easier, since my girlfriend is a photographer.  The problem is, since you're a photographer, you're not actually IN a lot of the photos.  I went through a lot of old photos on facebook as well as on photobucket and my hard drive.  This is hard!  I'm trying to convince you to lend my your externals so I can back them up.  If I remember correctly, you have 3 external hard drives completely filled with pictures.  This is going to be FUN!  **rolls up sleeves**

Took the weekend off =)

It was Easter weekend so I took the week off from blogging so I could spend it with you.  You came into NJ early since you had off, and we went to Arthurs to have an early dinner.  I've never seen Arthur's that empty before in my life, which was a great thing for us.  Plus we got a $10 gift receipt =)  After dinner we went home and had a great workout.  Overall it was a Good Friday indeed!

Saturday we had a nice relaxing morning.  Did a light work out, steamed for a bit and headed out to Brooklyn for your mom's bday dinner.  I keep wanting to stay over so I can steal away and ask your parents if I can propose to you soon, but we didn't stay over in brooklyn so I'll have to do it over the phone or the next time I stay over. 

Sunday was loads of fun.  We played knock out with the siblings and rode our bikes for a little bit.  I can't wait till we're married and one big family for real.  I also wish you can stay over every day so you can stop leaving me.  I do think I need to be closer with your family though.  I felt like I haven't seen them in a while when I saw them on Saturday. 

This sucks I don't see you for almost 2 weeks....

Shopping! I love shopping.....

I was shopping online throughout the day.  Originally I was looking for a wooden box.  After perusing hundreds of wooden boxes, I found out that when I googled 'wood box with lock' most wooden boxes were jewelry boxes or valets.  Way too small for what I need it for.  I then found that the proper term was a 'keepsake box' after finding boxes that were the right size, I thought they looked a little bit too much like cremation boxes.... not really the effect I'm going for.  I then remembered you always wanted one of those vintage straw suitcases we always see, so I set my sights for those.  Most that I found were way too cheap, not built to last, or they were hard wicker picnic baskets.  Soooooooo I finally decided on THIS!

It's a vintage style burlap suitcase/box, that doubles as a wedding card holder?  Good compromise right?  I fell in love with etsy today.  I hope the product doesn't disappoint when it arrives.

Hand Po Nood-O's

For dinner on the night I'm going to propose we're going to have hand-pulled noodles (lai-mein) because that's what we had on our first date.  I think..... either way its going to be fantasticalistic, I'm going to learn how to make hand pulled noogles in the next 2 weeks, and 水餃.  Looks like my family is going to be eating a lot of noodles and dumplings in the next few weeks.

Preliminary Plans:

• Create beef stock the night before
• Make lai-mein from scratch
• Wrap sui gow
• Prepare everything before going out to pick up Cindy
• Tell Cindy I found a spot that makes hand-pulled noodles near me (hehe so not lying) and that I can get it before I come pick her up
• We'll have dinner just like any other night, and she can sample my home made noodles and give me honest feedback
• After dinner we will move on to Phase 2.

Where do I print photos??

I feel like going with Times New Roman today.  And maybe a smaller size font.  ok too small.  This is ugly, Georgia pwns.  Now that that is out of the way.  Last night you just got your new webcam, this is so exciting.  We can actually see each other in HD now =)  Anyways I'm still collecting photos and eventually printing them.  I accidentally asked you yesterday "where is a good place to print photos" as soon as i said it i was like oh sht... i dont normally print photos, shes gonna be like "for what."  You said snapfish is having a 1cent per print promotion.  Soooo i tried to turn your attention to that instead by saying ooh 1 cent thats a good deal, do they do it often?  You were like ehhh sometimes, once in a while they have it.... I thought i was in the clear, but then you go "FOR WHAT"

Insomnia yields breakthroughs

Couldn't sleep again last night, but at least I made some progress in my proposal plan.  It's all coming together now.  I emailed my sister this morning to recruit her help in finding out something for me.... teehee, i gotz spiez everywherez.

Things to do:
Organize photos (in progress)
Print photos
Learn to make dishes
Purchase display medium
Create flowchart (in progress)

So far i've consulted 2 ppl on this and its a need to know basis, they only know the bits and pieces that they need to know in order for me to extract services and info from them.  I am in control.

Sidenote: you commented on my skype picture yesterday, its the picture i took and used for this blog site first.

Jonny Do Work!

Hey baby, I just finished having Panera with you and my family.  I wanted to drive you home so badly, but I also had to go home to work on this piece right here.  So just an update... at this juncture I've already picked out the stone for the engagement ring and sent them images of the setting I want.  The setting has to be molded in HK so its going to take at least 2 more weeks, (3-4 weeks total) to get here.  They will then set it here in NY, where I will then play hooky again from work to watch them do it.  EXCITErcised.

So I was thinking about how I could propose to you and spent the last month or so just going through various scenarios.  You say yes in all of them so I'm not too worried, I guess....although a few times I would get a little carried away and just stay up till like 4:00am, unable to fall asleep.  However, one such sleepless night, i thought of the perfect way to propose.  The perfect and most meaningful way that I can tell you how much you mean to me, and the effort I promise I will always make in my love to you.
